Our client's established CPA firm in Hartford, Connecticut provides comprehensive accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio across industries including manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, and non-profit organizations. They are seeking a detail-oriented Audit Senior to join their growing audit team.
Position Overview
As an Audit Senior, you will lead audit engagements from planning through completion while supervising staff-level auditors. You will serve as the primary day-to-day client contact while reporting to Audit Managers and Partners on engagement progress and issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute multiple audit engagements with minimal supervision
- Develop audit programs and risk assessments for client engagements
- Review staff work papers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
- Identify financial reporting and internal control issues
- Prepare financial statements and draft audit reports
- Coach and supervise audit staff while providing constructive feedback
- Maintain regular communication with clients on audit status and findings
- Identify additional service opportunities for existing clients
- Keep current with accounting and auditing standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience with focus on audit
- CPA license or actively pursuing certification
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and SOX requirements
- Experience with audit software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to build client relationships and work collaboratively in teams
