Our clients established CPA firm in Hartford, Connecticut provides comprehensive accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio across industries including manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, and non-profit organizations. They are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Audit Associate to join their growing audit team.
Position Overview
As a Senior Audit Associate, you will play a critical role in planning and executing audit engagements while supervising staff-level associates. You will work directly with clients and serve as their primary point of contact while reporting to Audit Managers and Partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple audit engagements simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Develop and execute audit programs based on risk assessments
- Review work papers prepared by staff accountants for accuracy and completeness
- Identify accounting and auditing issues and recommend solutions
- Draft financial statements and prepare audit reports
- Train, mentor, and supervise staff-level associates
- Communicate with clients regarding audit progress, findings, and recommendations
- Stay current on accounting principles, auditing standards, and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience with emphasis on audit
- CPA license or actively pursuing certification
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with audit software, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
