My client is an outstanding Top 100 CPA firm based in Frisco, TX. They are seeking a State and Local Tax Associate to Senior for this particular role.
Position Overview
The SALT Tax Senior will be responsible for providing comprehensive state and local tax services to clients across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires expertise in navigating complex multistate tax environments and delivering high-quality tax solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review multistate income tax returns and compliance documents
- Conduct research on state and local tax issues and prepare technical memoranda
- Identify tax planning opportunities and tax-saving strategies for clients
- Assist with state tax audits and controversy matters
- Collaborate with other tax professionals to provide integrated tax services
- Mentor and develop junior staff members
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting with focus on state and local taxation
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Multistate income tax
- Multistate sales and use tax
- Property tax
- Credits and incentives
- Strong knowledge of state tax compliance and planning
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and client relationship management abilities
- Proficiency with tax software and research tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Taxation
- Experience in multiple SALT specialty areas
- Industry specialization in manufacturing, technology, or financial services
