About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced CPA-licensed Senior Auditor to join their growing audit practice in Atlanta. This position focuses on serving a wide range of clients including those in the not-for-profit space while maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute financial statement audits for not-for-profit organizations among others, including planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff auditors while reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback
- Maintain direct communication with clients throughout the audit process, including presenting findings and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and communicate technical issues to managers and partners
- Prepare and review Form 990 tax returns for not-for-profit organizations
- Contribute to the firm's quality control processes and methodology improvements
- Participate in business development activities and proposal preparation
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience with exposure to not-for-profit audits
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 958 and other standards relevant to not-for-profit entities
- Experience with single audits (Uniform Guidance) and federal grant compliance
- Strong understanding of internal controls and risk assessment
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
