About the Role


We are seeking an accomplished Senior Tax Manager to join our clients tax practice in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with extensive public accounting experience, proven ability to drive growth, and expertise in managing complex tax engagements while maintaining the highest standards of client service.



Key Responsibilities

  • Direct multiple complex tax engagements simultaneously, overseeing planning, execution, and delivery
  • Lead and develop a team of managers, seniors, and staff, providing mentorship and career guidance
  • Drive strategic tax planning initiatives for sophisticated client portfolios
  • Oversee complex federal and state tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Manage key client relationships at the C-suite and owner level
  • Lead business development initiatives and manage proposal processes
  • Contribute to firm-wide strategic planning and growth initiatives
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures across tax engagements
  • Provide authoritative guidance on complex tax matters and emerging issues
  • Oversee tax provision engagements and review calculations
  • Develop and conduct technical training programs
  • Manage engagement economics, including billing and collections
  • Participate in recruiting efforts and performance evaluation processes
  • Represent the firm at professional and community events


Required Qualifications

  • Active CPA license
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of public accounting experience with at least 5 years at the manager level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
  • Proven track record of managing complex tax engagements and client relationships
  • Strong technical research and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellence in staff development and team leadership
  • Superior project management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated business development success


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field
  • Experience with international tax planning and compliance
  • Industry expertise in private equity, real estate, or manufacturing
  • Advanced knowledge of partnership and corporate taxation
  • Experience with M&A tax planning and structuring
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
  • Public speaking and presentation experience
  • Proficiency in tax software platforms and research tools
