Full-time staff tax accountant position at our clients boutique CPA firm specializing in high-net-worth individual tax planning and compliance and small to medium sized business. The role offers significant growth potential and direct client interaction in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complex individual tax returns for high-net-worth clients, including multi-state returns and foreign income reporting
- Analyze investment portfolios, K-1s, and partnership distributions to ensure accurate tax treatment
- Conduct tax planning sessions and provide strategic recommendations for wealth preservation
- Manage estimated tax payments and extension calculations
- Research complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda
- Assist with tax projections and scenario planning for investment decisions
- Coordinate with wealth managers, attorneys, and other financial advisors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience with focus on individual taxation
- CPA license or actively pursuing certification
- Strong knowledge of high-net-worth tax planning strategies
- Proficiency in ProSystems fx Tax, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with trust and estate tax planning
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience with international tax reporting requirements
- Familiarity with New York state and city tax regulations
